The Delta White Dorper Stud is owned and operated by Graeme Bruce former strong woolgrower and vice president of the Interior Textiles and Carpet wool Council of Australia, and Ian Collie an industry respected Sheep and Cattle consultant. Ian’s knowledge and experience is a great asset to our clients in developing viable commercial programs, sire selection as well as marketing within a fully integrated production system.

The stud is based at Chintin in central Victoria.

The Delta White Dorper Stud has been developed from the original purchase of the top selection of stud ewes and rams from Mr Robert Hamersley’s Blanco Stud Embryo Transfer breeding program. Selection has been balanced with a strong focus on fertility, performance and structure with the view to maintaining sound genetic diversity.

The genetic background of the flock is mainly influenced by high performance and strong maternal traits from Saxon Downs, Murion, Blanco and Kaya studs with most of the leading South African studs being represented through these family lines. At Delta White Dorpers we believe that today with advances in breeding technology and sophisticated systems of animal evaluation, the age of a stud has very little, if any significance, but rather breeding decisions relative to commercial reality and customer service will determine any long term success.

To that long term goal, we aim to work closely with our clients to create a win / win situation because we strongly believe that our clients success will deliver our success to create a stud with a reputation of commercial reality and client service second to none.

It is very clear to us that the White Dorper Sheep can genuinely be described as the true “ CLIMATE CHANGE SHEEP ” with all of its positive attributes of shedding, non selective grazers, non seasonal breeders with high carcase quality and is easily adaptable to an organic type production system.
